HSV-1 antiviral-resistant corneal isolate#R2
ANTIVIRAL RESISTANT STRAIN
Produced by: ERASMUS-MC
Shipping From: Rotterdam - NL
This isolate belongs to a unique set of HSV-1 isolates cultured from corneal swabs taken from deceased corneas of otherwise healthy immunecompetent patients with a history of recurrent HSV-1 keratitis in The Netherlands. In-vitro susceptibility profile, and thymidine kinase genotype, have been described for acyclovir, ganciclovir and foscarnet.
Product Risk Group:
Viral Storage Medium -80C
Virus host type:
virus stocks generated in Vero cells. Virus production in culture supernatant was tested by HSV-1 specific PCR and HSV-specific immunefluorescence on infected Vero cells.
Production cell line:
Isolate #R2 is acyclovir-resistant, but ganciclovir and foscarnet sensitive (see PMID: 19795980)
