This SARS-CoV-2 strain was isolated from a COVID-19 patient from Slovakia in March 2021. Its complete sequence is deposited on GISAID.org under the accession ID EPI_ISL_ 1234458. The virus belongs to the B.1.351 lineage (20H/501Y.V2 or "South African variant")). The virus is preserved under Viral Storage Medium -80C. Tests for the presence of mycoplasmae were negative. To confirm its identity the virus has been fully sequenced.
